Forever Young

By

Jane King

I wish I were a little cloud
Away above a sky so blue
I wish you were a little cloud
So I could float all day with you

The Sunflowers

The flowers are dancing
In the sun today
I wonder what makes
The flowers dance that way

The Snapdragon

The snapdragon ate two bugs
And then he smiled at me
I hope I don't become
Good morsel number three.

Talking Leaves

The leaves talk to me
Crunch Crunch is what they say
Every now and then
When I come out to play

Turtle Tom

Turtle Tom crawled beneath a tree
I picked him up surprised as could be
Then I got a case of the blues
Turtle Tom watered my shoes

My Plant

My thirsty plant died
I cried on its dirt
My watered plant thrived
It was very pert

Part 2-SWEET MIRACLES

Little Dove

Oh little one little one
Softly cooing dove
Baptized by holy waters
Flowing from above

Fly forth most gentle dove
On blessed wings so high
The winds of peace and love
Will guide you through the sky

Glittering Threads

Mothers are the Morning Sun
They make sunshine  til day is done
Fathers are the Evening Moon
They guard sweet dreams that end too soon

Children are the Scented Earth
Both Sun and Moon bless their sweet birth
The Sun and Moon and Scented Earth
Are blessed by God above

Glittering
With Silver-Gold threads
Of His
 Abiding love

Sprinkles of Smiles

Sprinkles of smiles
Are falling your way
Just so you ll know
The sun wants to play

With every pitter-patter
The happy raindrops say
A freshly showered Mr. Sun
Will soon come out to play

So catch a falling smile
Soak up a sunny ray
Chase all the pretty rainbows
And have a happy day

And here s another wish
Made  specially for you
That sunny smiles and rainbows
Will last your whole life through

 A Painted Sky

God painted the sky just for us
All shades of pink and red
He wanted to say
Have a happy day
And that is what He said

Dancing With the Breeze

On this lovely morning
A softly blowing breeze
Dances with the rose vines
While Grandma shells the peas

and with the many sailboats Coming from the seas
A graceful pretty dance
That puts my heart at peace
Something I would never ever want to cease

On this lovely morning
I would so like to be
The breeze's dancing partner
A happy sight to see

So Mr. Summer Breeze
I blow this wish to you
Be my dancing partner
And make the wish come true

A Heavenly Dream

Peacefully floating on white billowing clouds
I suddenly am swept inside the pearly gates of Paradise
Saint Peter the surprised gate keeper now surprises me
With several boxes of my favorite chocolates

Heaven-blessed by bursting hugs of bittersweet dark chocolate
Angel-kissed by delicate sprinkles of ambrosial almonds
These sumptuous melt-in-your-mouth caramels and pralines
Are simply put a Heavenly Dream

Peacefully floating on my chocolaty heavenly dream-of-last-night
I suddenly am swept inside
The oyster-gray earthly early morning light
My dance-for-joy chocolates disappear out of sight

Suddenly swept back
To my flat chocolateless earthly life truths
My billowing clouds my dance for joy chocolates my heavenly dreams
All go poof

Oh Saint Peter ardent keeper of heaven's gates and heavenly dreamers
Could you angel-express these chocolaty pieces of paradise
To this earthly Heaven-seeker
Along with angel's wings to raise me to the Heavens where all the angel sing

PART 3-PRECIOUS TREASURES

Daydreams

The farmer s wife swings
Her little boy in the air
All daydreams swing with him
He laughs without care.

Daydreams last forever
Little boys do not
They grow up and wear dark suits
And ties with polka

Our little boy grown up
Has a little boy all his own
Who swings high in the air
With dreams his heart has sown

Now parents and children
Please let your daydreams fly
And always send them from your heart
So they will never die

For daydreams are like teddybears
Cept they feel twice as good
So give them many happy hugs
Oh yes you really should

I have created a short children’s book of poems for your review entitled Forever Young.
These poems are illustration-friendly, whimsical, humorous and have a lot of child appeal, as they reflect the hopes and dreams that can only come from the hearts of young children who have not yet learned to be cynical. Forever Young sees the wonderful gifts of Mother Nature, Heaven and Earth through the wondering eyes of a small child. My synopsis and book of poems is enclosed along with my hopes and dreams to find a happy home for it-through you.

Synopsis:

1. Jingles and Rhymes-These short poems take us on a lighthearted journey through the magical world of floating clouds, blue skies, dancing sunflowers, smiling snapdragons, bugs, talking leaves, crawling turtles, and thirsty plants.
2. Sweet Miracles-These  poems are a little longer and more thoughtful in nature (although still child-friendly) and explore some other natural and supernatural wonders-like softly cooing doves, flowing waters, the winds of peace and love, glittering threads, the morning sun, the evening moon, sweet dreams, sprinkles of smiles, happy raindrops, pretty rainbows, painted skies, dancing summer breezes, bobbing sailboats, blowing wishes, pearly gates, dance-for-joy chocolates, ambrosial almonds, melt-in-your-mouth pralines, heavenly dreams, the oyster-grey early morning light, earthly life truths, earthly heaven seekers, and angel's wings.   They also discover beautiful ways that Mother Nature expresses the miraculous love between parents and children.   3. Precious Treasures-My closing poem brings everything full circle while wandering a little off the beaten path into a timeless truth that keeps us forever young. This delightful detour takes us on a magic carpet ride through floating daydreams, and sprinkles us with many happy treats, like ice cream, polkadot ties, teddy bears, happy hugs and many other wonderful things.
