Joseph Smith, known as Iron Sphinx, served some time in the Marine Corps but was dishonorably discharged for the so call murder of Lt. General David Orvetel. It  was during that time when Lt. General Orvetel was going up against Major General Mack T. Racenson, (General Robert E. Parker’s best friend,) to take over Robert E. Parker’s position as General. Joseph was sent back into the civilian world. He struggled as a martial arts instructor and busser to make ends meet. Before joining the Marines, he had felt like an outcast, whilst in the military, he was somebody. Since being booted out of the service, he became completely shut off from the world and a nobody. Nobody wanted anything to do with him. Even his family disowned him. A year and a half later, he gets an unexpected phone call from Vincent, who was still in the service. He asked him to come to Egypt and be part of an experiment called ‘octovation’ for the Egyptian Committee. He was reluctant at first; however, he decided to join his best friend. Joseph doesn’t know that the whole proposition was a hoax. He was never aware the octovation could kill. The octovation is a severe chemical nerve agent that instantly aborts your existence to life.  General Parker and his men were holding Vincent hostage.
Joseph gets into some combat with the General’s men and bogy trapped in the pyramids. He and his best friend were applied octovation. The octovation was supposed to kill them both. They remained dead for the next 2 ½ weeks.
The Gods of the Dead emerged and gave Joseph and Vincent supernatural powers. Joseph was given the name Iron Sphinx, and Vincent was known as the Red Barren. The Gods of the Dead quickly vanished. Red Barren wakes up and taunts the Iron Sphinx. Several months later, Iron Sphinx resurrected from the ground. His display of unusual powers like a freak of nature. His powers were the ability to use his heat sensor, body bulletproof vest, 100% stamina, twice the strength of the average man, and a niche for climbing. The masked man suited in a navy blue suit emblazed with a golden logo of the sphinx on his backside. He’s loaded with an arsenal of weapons. He teams up with former martial arts champion Ayad and plots his ultimate revenge against General Robert E. Parker and the Marine Corps.

Although Joseph Smith’s childhood was abnormal, as a youngster, he had a few friends. He was the proud black son of two parents for over forty years. As he got older, he became an athletic young black man; however, he never had a girlfriend through-out his high school years. Just shortly after graduating from high school, he took up martial arts to regain some confidence in himself. He had always thought that martial arts was fascinating and meaningful. It would promote him to be assertive, confident, and being self-defensive. More so, than anything else, it gave him some self-discipline.
For the next three years, he became baffled on what to do with his life. A Marine recruiter discovered Joseph at a local gym, the rest was history’ and  5 months later he enlisted in the Marine Corps at the age of 21. Nevertheless, there were a few incidents of him in basic training, but he easily defeated basic training. His MOS was infantry and a register nurse. He soon made some friends and was well liked by his peers. Surprisingly, females from his co-workers to trainees were starting to develop some love interest for him.
Corporal Smith’s life was on the right track for the next 4 years. Also, his best childhood friend (1st. Sgt. Vincent Taylor) was in the military. Similarly, Vincent was part of the infantry force. They travelled the world together. Two of his favourite places were Egypt and Korea,  he found the two cultures to be astonishing. The people who he came across were friendly.
He felt his life could do no wrong. Everyone trusted Corporal Smith, and he trusted everyone. Suddenly, there was a strange accusation of him stealing government data and being linked to a horrific murder. During that particular evening in June of 1995, Lt. General David Mills was running for the General position but came to a screeching halt. He was murdered at his home. As Mr. Mills, Major General Mack T. Racenson was running for General. Mr. Racenson was the friend of the current General; his name is Robert E. Parker. He felt that Dr. Mills, a black man, was a threat to his position. Mr. Mills was becoming tremendously popular with his peers and rest of the nation. The black community saw this prominent figure representing them in a positive light. The General wanted this guy dead before the momentum shifted. General Parker ordered Corporal Smith and 1st. Sgt. Taylor to escort Dr. Mills to the airport. They were told that that their weapons wouldn’t be needed. Ironically, their weapons were stolen, neither of them noticed. Three cars drove in front of Dr. Mills house. Once 1st. Sgt. Smith and Corporal Taylor arrived at the home, they saw the dead body of Mr. Mills on the floor with several gun wounds. A hound of MP’s burst into the house and arrested them both. One of the alleged gunmen had used Corporal Smith’s gun to kill Dr. Mills. Smith was framed for it. He contended that it was stolen. Word spread fast on the base that Corporal Smith was the doctor killer. Even his family heard about the acquisition via mail. His peers and friends that he called family disowned and berated him. On July of 1995, it was a day that would change his life forever. Because of substantial evidence, Marine officials gave him the options of accepting a dishonorable discharge or demotion in ranks.
After carefully analyzing both sides of the coin, he reluctantly accepted the dishonorable discharge. Being demoted and receiving less pay wasn’t worth the risk for him. Within 48 hours later, he was tossed back into the civilian world like a dead carcass. His friend, 1st. Sgt. Vincent watched with a great deal of shame. He wanted to be there for his childhood friend.
Everyone from his family to close friends abandoned him. He was wondering helplessly on what to do with his life back home in Boston. He squandered with two jobs as karate instructors and other temporary positions to make ends meet. The name Corporal Joseph Smith was never heard  again for almost a year.

A year and a half have since gone by without a single word from either his family nor friends. Until  late one evening, the former Corporal received an unexpected phone call. That call was from none other than Vincent. The puzzled Joseph thought he would be the person to call him.

The caller had spoken first. He answered, “Hello, my friend.”
“Vincent is that you?” Joseph asked. “It can’t be!”
1st Sgt. Vincent replied, “Of course, it’s me! Who do you think it was?”
“I’m just curious,” Joseph said.
“No, Joe, you got me curious.” He talked in satisfaction.
Vincent resumed talking again, “I already know about the allegations involving you and me.”
“Do you actually believe the government?” He honestly asked.
Vincent replied, “Hell no, I could never picture you as the suspect in that brutal crime.” He replied with an honest answer to Joseph. “Also, that night my gun was stolen.”
“Oh, boy. At least I have one person on my side.” He felt relieved by his best friend’s comments. “I feel like this fucking society is entirely against me. Well, screw them. Who the hell are they to protest us? Unless, if they have been there and know what they’re talking about!” He went on to ask, “Why weren’t you discharged or demoted? “
“ I know you are hurting and feeling the world is against you. Really, the entire system is trying to wipe us from the face of the planet. All I want you to do is leave Boston and come to Cairo with me!” He never responded to the original question...
